As Executive Director Tommy oversees the overarching strategic direction of the organization. He works closely with the board of directors, executive staff and community stakeholders to push ASA towards defining and achieving its outcomes and vision of being the gold standard community based club.
Tommy joined ASA in 2011 as the first ever club employee and initially served as both Executive & Technical Director. Since then he has led the organization from supporting 1,200 youth players in just two programs to supporting over 6,000 youth and adults across 14 program platforms.
Previously, Tommy taught business courses at DeMatha Catholic High School where he also coached their national champion soccer team. He gained valuable coaching experience coaching the DC United Under 20 team and running the club’s on-site summer programming. He earned his bachelor’s degree from University of Mary Washington and a Master’s in Sports Industry Management from Georgetown University. Tommy holds his USSF “A” Coaching License, National Youth License, Unisport (Brazil) coaching certificate and was a USSF Coach Instructor.
Chris has more than 15 years of coaching experience at Alexandria. He was named the Kwik Goal CCL Coach of the year in 2019-2020. Since joining the ASA team in 2011 Chris has coached in and worked across almost all ASA programs. In addition to coaching in the Academy, Chris works as the Deputy Director of Academy and Futsal overseeing all operations and strategy relating to both of these programs.
Chris holds his USSF “B” License, National Youth License, and NSCAA Level 1 Futsal Diploma. He played soccer for the University of North Carolina – Charlotte where he graduated with a degree in Politics.
As Academy Director Adem oversees all aspects of the Academy program which includes coaching support, league and tournament planning, player placement, schedule logistics, administrative support, player registration and team manager support. He works closely with Academy coaching staff and team managers in order to ensure that participants are provided a fun, challenging, dynamic and progressive learning environment.
Adem holds his USSF C license. He played Div I soccer at American University where he graduated with a degree in Business Administration.
Jonah has been coaching since 2001, working with players of all ages and levels. He has spent the entirety of his coaching career in the DC area coaching with DC Stoddert Soccer Club, Potomac Soccer Club, Howard Community College, St. John’s College High School and the Maryland and Virginia ODP programs.
In his role as Academy Manager Jonah supports all Academy operations to ensure a smooth and successful season both on and off the field.
Jonah enjoys the challenge of coaching in an elite-level environment and providing guidance to players as they strive to reach their soccer, academic and life goals. He recently obtained his USSF-A License and has his United Soccer Coaches (formerly NSCAA) Advanced National Goalkeeping Diploma.
Scott has been coaching in Alexandria for the past seven years, both boys and girls teams ages U13+. He also coaches the U23 women’s summer team. He loves coaching soccer and aims to foster a love for the game in each of his players.
Scott holds his USSF C License. He played college soccer at the Coast Guard Academy where he graduated with a degree in Operations Research & Computer Analysis.
Tim has been coaching in Alexandria for the past six years. He started coaching in almost every program at the club. Now he leads our nationally recognized futsal league and coaches in the Academy program.
Tim holds his USSF C License. Prior the working in youth soccer Tim was served in the United States Marine Corp.
Rose has been coaching in Alexandria for the past two years in addition to playing on our nationally recognized women’s futsal pro team. Prior to Metro ASA she worked and coached at PPA in Washington DC. Rose graduated from James Madison University where she participated in their club soccer program.
Anna recently graduated from Virginia Tech and has been supporting teams and coaching in programs in Alexandria for the past few years. She supports the 2009 girls and coaches in the Junior Academy program.
